  • What materials are used in Weka Felt Fibres products?
Each product from Weka Felt Fibres is one-of-a-kind, crafted primarily from high-quality felt and silk, with minimal synthetics used for textures and embellishments. Felt, made from natural wool fibers, is compressed and matted to create a durable, warm, and textured fabric. Silk, known for its softness and luxurious feel, is often incorporated to add elegance and a beautiful drape to our items. Because each product is unique, prices are not fixed and may fluctuate frequently. Additionally, the time required to create each item varies.
  • How should I care for felt items?
Felt is a delicate material that should be handled with care. To maintain its texture and shape: Gentle Cool Handwash Avoid Heat: Do not iron felt, as high temperatures can damage the fibers. If necessary, use a steamer on a low setting from a distance to remove wrinkles. Store Properly: Store your felt items in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to prevent fading and damage.
  • How do I care for silk items?
Silk is a luxurious and delicate fabric that requires gentle care: Hand Wash: Wash silk by hand in cold water with a mild detergent. Avoid wringing the fabric; instead, gently press out excess water. Dry Flat: Lay the silk item flat on a towel to dry, keeping it away from direct sunlight to preserve its color and texture. Low-Temperature Ironing: If ironing is needed, use a low heat setting with a cloth between the iron and the silk to protect the fabric.
  • Can I machine wash my Weka Felt Fibres products?
We recommend against machine washing due to the delicate nature of felt and silk. Hand washing or spot cleaning is the best way to ensure the longevity of your items.
  • How do I store Weka Felt Fibres items?
Store your items in a cool, dry place, ideally in a breathable fabric bag to protect them from dust and moisture. Avoid hanging felt items, as this can cause them to stretch out of shape. Silk items should be stored flat or gently folded.
  • Will my Weka Felt Fibres product change over time?
Over time, felt and silk may naturally develop a patina or soften slightly with use, enhancing the character of your piece. Proper care will help preserve the original quality and prolong the life of your item.
  • What should I avoid when caring for Weka Felt Fibres products?
Avoid exposing your items to direct sunlight, excessive moisture, harsh chemicals, and heat. These can cause fading, shrinkage, and damage to the delicate materials used in our products.
